THE COMPLETE METROID CYCLE
For the uninitiated, or “junior” intergalactic bounty hunter, Manuel Samolo Molohua has put together complete descriptions of Metroid and the different forms they take on in their life cycle.
Of course, that’s assuming a certain bounty hunter allows them to live that long.
THE THEATER 2013 (A CREEPYPASTA GAME)
Over at the IndieGaming subReddit, DMXell shared his indie game created within 24 hours and a recreation based around the mythos of a creepypasta story called The Theater 2013.
It’s a great fan made atmospheric scary game that reminds me a lot of the simplistic horror game SCP-087 or SCP-Containment Breach. It’s a short experience that fans of creepypasta should check out.

FAR CRY 3: BLOOD DRAGON THE MOVIE TRAILER
I can’t get enough of Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon’s over the top 80s action movie elements and apparently neither could Mike Diva who made this faux movie trailer for the game. It’s right up there with Corridor Digital’s live action trailer in that I want this to be a real thing.
Be sure to check out our review on Blood Dragon and if you haven’t pick it up yet snag the PC version right here from Amazon for $15.
INSTAGRAM USED TO BRING VIDEO GAMES INTO LIFE
We’ve seen plenty of 8bit IRL before, but Mel Marcelo’s series brings a new twist.
He uses Instagram to take the photos and then photoshops in the 8bit awesome, creating some really impressive images that look stunningly realistic.
Some personal favorites are Link in the Apple store and the characters from Wild Gunmen hanging out in the Taco Bell. Both are great examples of the subtle details Mel infuses into his designs, like creating pixelated shadows, to make the images look virtually realistic.
Visit Mel’s Instagram to see his complete collection of 8bit goodness.
